*NEW UPDATE*
link to Kasey’s testimony!
Hi, my name is Krysten and I am fundraising for my cousin Kasey. She is a beautiful soul that has had to face many hardships in this crazy life that nearly got the best of her. I am elated to be able to say that she has picked herself up and is on the road to thriving. However, life is already hard right now for most as it is, let alone having to start completely over again with essentially nothing. I am hoping with your help that we can get her back on her feet. A true pandemic our world is facing right now is homelessness and substance abuse. So if you feel called to help in any way, it would be gratefully appreciated. This could be donating, words of encouragement, opportunities etc. These funds will be used for her sober living expenses and the head start needed for a successful rest of her life!
Now a few words from Kasey herself.
UPDATE!
July 19th, 2024
I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for all the donations this far in supporting my recovery, and trip to see my son, Owen. I am finally off to see him on July 29th, on a red eye, to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Like I mentioned before, it was more than 4 years ago since I last saw him. He was 5 then, now he's 9, almost 10 in October.
I am coming up on 5 months in recovery, I couldn't feel more blessed and filled with gratitude. With the donations so far, I have been able to pay for sober living costs for a few months, purchase the travel accommodations for Indiana, and a motorized scooter to get me to and from meetings. All thanks to you- my community.
Upon returning, my prayers for employment will hopefully be answered! There is still a need for sober living costs, food and necessities. If you feel called to help, anything is valued.
I appreciate all the love, support and encouragement- it is deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
Much love and blessings,
Kasey
Update June 12, 2024
With a very grateful heart, I want to say thank you, to all the donors this far. With the funds, I was able to pay one month of sober living, and officially book my roundtrip ticket to Indiana, to see my son, Owen!
I currently have 109 days in my sobriety. I graduate on Friday, June 14th, from Touchstone Recovery Center, with the hopes of staying in a sober living environment for at least a year. I am at that stage where a lot of things are unknown. My faith, and connection with God plays a very big part in my recovery. He works through us, not for us, though! I am praying for an opportunity with a stable job- still hoping to work in treatment one day!
I did, however, move houses to a different sober living in Fresno, CA, and the rent was reduced to $600. Transportation without a license has been slightly easy, with the care of friends in the program, but eventually I will need to engage in a DUI program, that can be expensive. (Love the bus!)
When going to see my son, I do hope to rent an Airbnb, where we can have quality time together. Be able to get to and from him by an Uber or Lyft.
He is currently a very good soccer player. The promises are coming true!
As said above, by my Cousin, any words of encouragement, job opportunities, or donations, are GREATLY appreciated.
Many blessings,
Kasey

Hi, my name is Kasey, and I have 90 beautiful days, in my new life of recovery.
I desperately try to live in the solution today, to all my problems and struggles. I currently get to attend an intensive outpatient program, 4 days a week. I recently came from a residential treatment center, at first Steps Recovery. I have a Sponsor, that has a Sponsor. I am working on the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous. I live in a Sober Living, in Fresno, California. I get to attend at least one meeting a day, where I hear experience, strength, and hope- applying it to my life, and grasping the tools to gain a manner of living without drugs, or alcohol.
As I reach this new phase in recovery, I am desperately seeking to rebuild my life. I have made a lot of wreckage, but I believe in restoration and redemption. I have a relationship with God today, that only existed in my hopes and dreams.
The above picture, is myself, and my Son, Owen. He is 9 years old now, and the last time I saw him, he was 4 years old. He lives in Indiana now, with his Father. By the grace of God, he has been able to forgive me, and only hopes of seeing his Mother in the near future. I am seeking employment now, after regaining the ability to have a California ID. I aspire to one day work in treatment to give back what was so freely given to me.
Gaining a new life, in recovery, to me, is practicing humility.
My current Sober Living is $750/month, with this I am reminded that life can become overwhelming after years of not feeling my feelings. If not donations, I am willing and open to work, in order to gain income, in order to be self sufficient again.
I am asking for support, in order to grow in my new foundation. Opportunity, to build the bond back up, with my Son. Create stability, so I, myself, can thrive in my recovery.
Many blessings, and prayers to you all.
With that, I believe I will stay. ❤️
Kasey
