This is my grandson Karter, he was the light in our lives. Karter was born with OFDS 14, when Karter was just a couple months old he had a trach placed and was able to have it removed at the age of 2, he also had a Gtube placed at a week old when he was 3 he was diagnosed with IBS due to this he was feed intravenously through a port in his chest, he had an ileostomy placed a year ago this month. Karter was put on hospice Christmas of 23 at the age of 8. This broke all our hearts, on 7/17/24 Karter passed at home with his mama, dada, nana, and untie surrounding him. Mom worked for Karter because of his complex needs. Due to medical complications mom can’t work at this time and is awaiting surgery. it’s so hard to see my daughter struggle with the loss of her precious baby, the reason she smiled, the reason for living.
