Support KARM: Meals and Shelter for the Needy
Tax deductible
Who We Are
We are students at the University of Tennessee who are partnering with KARM to help raise money for the organization. We are working with KARM because we are invested in ending homelessness in Knox county and helping the less fortunate.
KARM was founded in 1960 and is designated as a 501(c)3 organization. Its mission statement is to restore the lives of our homeless neighbors through Christ-centered support. “Since 1960, KARM has helped men and women struggling with homelessness, poverty, mental health and addiction to pick up the broken pieces and build a better life—one with a home, job, and loving relationships; a life that is healthy, whole, restored.”
What We Need
Through this partnership, we are eager to help and give back to the community by asking members of our local area to help us reach our goal. We are looking for $1000 in donations. 100% of KARM’s profits provide meals, job training, and life skills for those who are less fortunate. We greatly appreciate any size donation and we are looking forward to making an impact in our great community.
How it Helps
We know that this organization is very important in the Knoxville area and with every $2.56 donated, Karm provides a meal. Meals are gateways to safe shelter, hot showers, and faith guided recovery. This time of year is important with the holiday season right around the corner. Your donations would tremendously help fund thanksgiving dinners for a great amount of people.
How Else You Can Help
There are several other ways you can get involved and help KARM’s cause. You can support the organization in ways that include:
- Donating items such as sheets, hygiene items, cough drops, bottled water, etc. KARM asks that you deliver them to their back entrance at 511 North Gay Street, Monday through Friday, between 8:30am to 5pm.
- Following and reposting the organization’s instagram and facebook accounts
- Donors can find more information through KARM’s website. https://karm.org/
