Support Karlos's Journey to Recovery

Hello family and friends. I wanted to take the time and focus this fundraiser on my beloved brother, Karlos.

A decade ago, he was diagnosed with Type II diabetes that he has kept to himself with only close family knowing about his health.

Recently, he went to the doctor to get seen for swelling in his foot not knowing what was bound to come. My brother went into something that he was not mentally, emotionally, or physically prepared for and was getting ready to face one of the most challenging obstacles in his life.

The doctors that examined his foot mentioned that an amputation may be best to save his leg due to having Charcot’s foot. Just like anyone else, my brother asked for a second opinion. The day of surgery, an hour before they were going to go through with the amputation, the doctor came running in saying that an amputation did not have to be done because they had a way to save his foot. He was sent home not knowing that the surgery they were going to do to save his foot, was not covered by his insurance.

Unfortunately, as three weeks went by, he went for a follow up visit for his foot and was sent to the ER immediately to have the amputation done. Due to being in the hospital and learning to live this new life without a part of him has him out of work learning how to walk and feel like himself again.

If anyone knows Karlos, you know how loving, giving, and wholehearted he is. As we all know this will take time for him to get back to himself. We’re asking if anyone can donate to help with any medical/living expenses. If you are unable to, a prayer will suffice. Thank you all for everything!
