Hi, my name is Brandon. I'm 17 years old. I am Karla’s son. My mom's story is that she’s had stage four cancer for around a year now. The doctors always said that there was something wrong, but they never got to know what it actually was. They came to find out it was stage four cancer a little bit over two and a half months ago. She has always been a great person and the best mom a son could ask for. Once we found out she had it, she started chemo immediately. My mom hasn’t always been the strongest person in body, but she has been the strongest person in mentality. I love her so much.

I am starting this GoFundMe because yesterday she had a heart attack. Her heart stopped for 15 minutes. The doctors are now saying it’s really bad and it’s a critical condition. I always remember her telling me that she was sorry for me helping her and that she didn’t want to be a burden to me or my brother/sister. I told her she could never be. Pretty much the only thing that brought her back to life is a machine that helps you breathe better. Before they used the machine, she was getting compression by a different machine so that it could bring her back to life. My mom has always had weak bones, but she is a really strong woman. The doctor said if she has another heart attack and they use the machines again, it could kill her because the machine already damaged her lungs. So, like I said, if it happens again, the doctor said it could break a bone and she could bleed out. She is going to have to stay with the machine that at least is helping her breathe.

Before she had a heart attack, she would always be in her bed for around 3 days straight. The picture I posted was around two weeks ago at my sister’s sweet 16. The girl in the picture is my girlfriend. My mom looks so strong and healthy; things can change really quickly. Now that she’s back on these machines, because this is not the first time these machines have come to save her life, just the first time she got healthy afterwards and nothing bad happened, thanks to God. During those times, I remember her always telling me and my family, if I have to live off of these machines and I’m not able to move and speak and be myself, I want to go rest with God.

This is the reason I’m starting this GoFundMe because the doctors yesterday said that they need an answer on whether if her heart stops again, what do we want the doctors to do? They’re also saying that it’s really rare for her to come back because the cancer is in her stomach and it has pretty much spread everywhere.

I made this account for funeral costs. She has always been a Christian and right now my mom is suffering and I don’t want her to live off of machines. Neither did she. Later today, we have to go sign the papers. At least my brother does, due to me not being 18 and him being the oldest. Anything helps. All of this is going to Karla Saenz.
