Support Karina's Transplant Journey
Donation protected
My daughter Karina was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a 13 year old. In November of 2024, a visit to the emergency room as directed by her doctor discovered that Karina was in Renal Failure due to the damages wrought over the years by her Diabetes. Karina is 30 years old and is the mother of my two young grandsons, 9 and 6 years old. Karina is currently waiting for dialysis to start and is being placed on the kidney transplant list. A vibrant young woman who worked full-time, in addition to caring for my grandsons, she has now been directed that she is unable to work for at least the next six months while her body adjusts to dialysis. She is gravely ill, and has about 30% of her kidney function at this time. In addition, the same week she went into the hospital for nine days, Karina's furnace quit working. Despite having furnace companies out to try to fix the furnace, they have now been told that it must be replaced. All of these adjustments are very hard for my daughter to process as she loves to work and her whole world has now turned upside down. In addition to her illness, and mounting medical care costs, now she only has the income of her fiance to help in this time of growing bills, and growing needs.
I am begging you as a terrified mother myself to please help my daughter in this time of need. Karina has been taking such good care of her diabetes the past couple of years, and this came as a big shock to herself and her family.
