On November 3, 2021, the Beck family experienced a sudden tragedy when beloved husband and father, Trent Beck passed away unexpectedly. Trent leaves behind his amazing and supportive wife, Karin and two young, beautiful children, Colten (age 7) and Hadyn (age 5). Your support is key to helping them begin to heal from and process this devastating loss, as Karin adapts to life as a single parent and as Colten and Hadyn adjust to life without a father.
Although lots of support (and hugs and well wishes) are coming in now - this gofundme campaign will provide sustaining support through the next several months - and especially during the upcoming holiday season. In the next few months as life returns to normal for the rest of us, Karin and the kids will still be processing and learning to adjust to life without a partner and a father.
In the near-term, Karin will be unable to work and provide for the financial needs of her family, as she deals with the logistics (and costs) of a funeral, while also tending to the emotional and physical needs of her two small fatherless children.
In the long-term, Karin will be faced with the new challenge of being a single working mother, balancing work and financial demands with the need for childcare and providing a stable household for Colten and Hadyn. Although this financial support is of course no substitute for Trent - funds could go to assist with future meals, funeral arrangements, childcare (as this will no longer be two parent household), and household expenses (living in California on a single income with two kids is no small feat).
As many of you know, Karin is the ultimate cheerleader, who always gives tirelessly and steps up to help those in need.
Karin is a valued, contributing member of her neighborhood community, her kids' school and sports communities, and of course, the archaeological community.
