Our friend and colleague, Karen Gassler (age 37), was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer (BRCA2+) in November 2024.

She is a busy mom of five kids and works a full-time job at Crest Wealth Management.

She has endured five months of chemotherapy all while still working. On June 30th, she went in for a double mastectomy.

Unfortunately, just as she thought she was able to return to work, she was told that she needed to undergo a hysterectomy, which occurred on August 5, 2025.

She will now be out of work longer than anticipated. 

Yesterday, she found out that she will need to undergo radiation daily for five weeks with a $50 co-pay for each visit.

Karen is nowhere near the end of this battle against breast cancer, but the financial burden is starting to take a toll on her and the family.
