**Update: My cousin has informed us that she is pregnant and was wanting to tell her family Christmas Day. She had been keeping her pregnancy a secret as to surprise all of us. With this news, she wants to fight to ensure that her baby grows up near family and friends.

Hello, Everyone.

It’s hard for me to ask for this as I know we’re all getting through the holidays. Yesterday, December 24th my cousin, Karina Miranda, was sadly taken by ICE in Aloha as she was on her way home from work early in the morning. Karina did not have a criminal record, she has spent the majority of her life here and also has a son that was born here in Oregon. She is an honest, hardworking, loving single mother and much more. Since she was detained we were luckily able to talk to her. She let us know she was taken to Tacoma and would like to fight for her right to stay in Oregon and continue to have a safe life for her and her son here. We understand that times are tough and we’re truly grateful and thankful for any donations to support my cousin.

Me resulta difícil escribir esto, ya que sé que todos estamos pasando por los tiempos de festividades. Ayer, 24 de diciembre, mi prima, Karina Miranda, fue detenida por ICE en Aloha cuando regresaba a casa del trabajo a primera hora de la mañana. Karina no tiene antecedentes penales, ha vivido la mayor parte de su vida aquí y tiene un hijo que nació en Oregón. Es una madre honesta, trabajadora y cariñosa, entre muchas otras cualidades. Desde que fue detenida, afortunadamente pudimos hablar con ella. Nos contó que la llevaron a Tacoma y que quiere luchar por su derecho a permanecer en Oregón y seguir brindando una vida segura para ella y su hijo aquí. Entendemos que son tiempos difíciles y estamos realmente agradecidos por cualquier donación para apoyar a mi prima.
