Keeping Latvian Dance Alive in Ireland!

We are Karbunkulis, a passionate Latvian folk dance group in Ireland, dedicated to preserving and sharing the beauty of traditional Latvian dance. For nearly two decades, we have been a home for Latvians in Ireland, bringing together two generations — parents and children dancing side by side, passing down the joy of our heritage from generation to generation.

As a non-profit organisation, we rely entirely on the dedication of our members, who fund everything from costumes to rehearsal space out of their own pockets. But to keep this tradition alive for future generations, we need your help.

Why Your Support Matters

Founded in 2006 by members of the Latvian diaspora, Karbunkulis is more than just a dance group—it’s a community, a cultural connection, and a living expression of Latvian heritage. We proudly perform at cultural events and festivals, sharing Latvia’s rich storytelling, music, and dance with the world.

Since our founding, we have also actively collaborated with Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Latvian National Council in Ireland, strengthening ties between our two cultures. Through these partnerships, we continue to promote cultural exchange and represent the Latvian community within Ireland’s diverse artistic landscape.

However, maintaining and growing our group comes with costs that are becoming harder to manage alone. We are raising funds to help cover essential expenses, including:
