Hi, everyone. I'm asking for your help for a special young man named Kaleb, who came back into my life in November. Kaleb was needing a safe place to live, a warm meal, clean clothes, and his meds after being on the streets and couch hopping for quite a while. I opened our home up for him right away. We cleared out the art room and gave him his own room, some old furniture, and a bed! We worked on getting the meds, and after a very scary seizure and ambulance ride, the doctors helped us get everything he needed med-wise as we navigate through upcoming doctor appointments to find the cause of his seizure.
I asked Kaleb what he wanted, and he said, “to go back to school and graduate.” You would think it would be easy for me to enroll him, but I can’t without the guardianship paperwork. We've been working tirelessly with CPS, but we're facing legal challenges because I'm his 'aunt,' not a blood relative. We need to hire an attorney to get temporary guardianship so Kaleb can finally get into school. I have exhausted every other avenue trying to get him into SHS.
Kaleb also requires constant care for his seizures and daily support. We want to give him every opportunity to thrive, including sports, clubs, food, counseling, and a stable home. Your contributions will directly impact Kaleb's life, ensuring he doesn't miss out on his childhood due to circumstances beyond his control. Every bit helps, and we're so grateful for your support.
Thank you
I will be posting updates as we navigate through all this. We have had the 3rd CPS worker close the case because he is safe in my home but refuses to give me temporary guardianship to get him into school. Thankful I have everything in messages to give to the attorney.
