Kalani has been my sidekick for 6 years. She is who I come home to every day. It’s just her and me. On Saturday, July 26, I noticed a large lump on her lower stomach. I called the vet first thing Monday morning. They got her in Thursday morning. At the exam, they found that she had a large mammary tumor. We scheduled her for surgery first thing Monday morning. I took her in for surgery, and in the exam room, the surgeon was encouraged by her exam that she sounded and looked good and all would go well. During the pre-surgery x-rays, it was discovered that the tumor has metastasized to her lungs. Surgery was not done as it wouldn’t have helped, and he was concerned about her doing well under anesthesia. He said she likely has a couple of weeks, a couple of months at best before it starts to interfere with her daily life.

Because of that, I want to make all of those few days we have left the best possible and go on all the adventures she wants. Camping is her favorite as long as it includes lots of swimming!

This fundraiser is to help with our adventure and cover the expenses for when it’s time for her to cross the bridge.
