Hi, my name is Kailey McLaughlin. I am 26 years old and I went into the hospital for a kidney stone and went into septic shock from the stone and an unknown infection on January 1, 2024. The hospital I originally went to did nothing and sent me home. Which ended up resulting in me turning black and blue resulting in necrosis of my limbs and face after Lenox Beaumont urgent care did what they could to keep my vitals stable as I was seizing and coding even flatlining for 5 minutes. They transferred me to Grosse Pointe Hospital and they did all they could keeping me in a coma just for my organs stability (heart, brain, kidneys and lungs) to which they transferred me to Ann Arbor University of Michigan and they saved my life but unfortunately because of the necrotic limbs I had to be amputated in my arms and my legs. It has altered my life forever and has stopped me from now being able to work and provide and care for my family. Social Security Administration still has not gotten back to me about Social Security income. Please if you can give anything, know this money will be used for in-home care as I am trying to work with myo-electrics and prosthetics so I can learn to walk and use “hands” again along with helping my children.
