Introduction:
Kadam Theatre, a pioneering theatre organization based in Damak, Nepal, is excited to present our crowdfunding proposal for the completion of our multicultural theatre hall, "Seupakha." We recognize the transformative power of crowdfunding and seek your support to bring our vision to life. This proposal outlines our mission, the challenges we face, the impact your contribution can make, and the specifics associated with crowdfunding.
Background:
Damak, known as the "Garden of Languages and Cultures," is located in the eastern part of Nepal. Our diverse community comprises indigenous groups such as Dhimal, Kumal, Santhal, Rajbansi, Tajpurya, Gurung, Rai, Limbu, Dalit, Madhesi, Chetris, and Bhramans, who coexist in peace and harmony. With countless languages and storytelling styles, our region possesses a wealth of art and aesthetics. Art and culture are deeply ingrained in our daily lives, festivals, and events, and have played a significant role in shaping our community's unique identity.

About Kadam Theatre:
Kadam Theatre is a group of young artists, enthusiasts, and activists from Damak, Jhapa in Province No. 1, Nepal. Founded in 2016, the group consists of members from senior filmmakers to novice theatre learners as its artistic members. The group has been formed after realizing the necessity of a joint platform to work in the field of theatrical art to support the social transformation process in Damak and its surrounding. The group was founded when Nepali theatre and art activities were centred in Kathmandu, leaving behind the possibility of exploring artistic excellence in other parts of Nepal. Hence, the motto of Kadam Theatre is to ensure the development of modern rituals of theatre in other parts of the country, especially in eastern Nepal.
In 2017, driven by a passion to share our stories, language, art, culture, and social consciousness, Kadam Theatre was formally established in Damak. Our aim was to create a multicultural theatre hall, "Seupakha," where we could showcase our talents and
provide an immersive experience for both artists and audiences. However, our progress was impeded by the global COVID-19 pandemic, leaving Seupakha only 30% complete.

Current Challenges:
In addition to the pandemic, political instability in Nepal has hindered the completion of Seupakha. While the local government has provided us with land, the commitment of the Federal government to support the construction remains unfulfilled. Despite these setbacks, Kadam Theatre has persevered by creating a temporary creative space called "Pangwaila hall" to continue our artistic endeavours amidst adversity.

Your Role:
We understand the importance of community involvement and the collective power of individuals coming together to support a shared vision. Through crowdfunding, you have the opportunity to directly contribute to the growth and development of Kadam Theatre and make a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Damak. Your role in our crowdfunding campaign goes beyond a financial contribution; it extends to becoming an integral part of our journey and the realization of our goals.
Here's how you can play a vital role in our crowdfunding campaign:
Become a Backer: By becoming a backer, you provide the essential financial support needed to complete the construction of Seupakha and equip it with the necessary facilities. Your contribution, no matter the amount, demonstrates your belief in our mission and helps us move closer to our goal. The facets of such has been outlined in sections below:
Provide In-kind Support: In addition to financial contributions, in-kind support can make a significant difference. Whether it's providing equipment, materials, or services, your generosity in offering tangible resources helps us stretch our resources further and maximize the impact of your contribution.
Spread the Word: Help us amplify our message and reach a wider audience by sharing our crowdfunding campaign on social media platforms, email, and word-of-mouth. Your advocacy will raise awareness about the importance of nurturing local talent and promoting cultural diversity through theatre.

Engage with the Community: Actively engage with our theatre community by attending our performances, workshops, and events. Your presence not only supports our artists but also encourages others to participate and experience the transformative power of live theatre.
Volunteer and Collaborate: If you have skills or expertise that align with our mission, consider volunteering your time and resources. We welcome collaborations with individuals who can contribute their knowledge in areas such as production, marketing, fundraising, or event management. Together, we can create a stronger and more vibrant theatre community.
Every action you take in support of Kadam Theatre's crowdfunding campaign brings us closer to realizing our dreams. Together, we can build a professional theatre space that celebrates the richness of our diverse cultures and becomes a hub for artistic expression, education, and cultural exchange.
