Support Justin's Recovery from Heart Attack

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We’re reaching out today with heavy hearts and an urgent request for help. On June 8th, our beloved Justin was rushed to Riverbend Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a heart attack—at just 29 years old. Further testing revealed that Justin is in active heart failure, and he was Life Flighted to OHSU in Portland, where he remains in the Cardiovascular ICU. On Tuesday, June 10th, a team of doctors performed a cardiac catheterization to assess his condition. The procedure showed an enlarged and inflamed heart, likely caused by a viral infection, though we are still waiting for more answers. A heart biopsy has been taken, and on Monday, June 16th, Justin will undergo a cardiac MRI to further evaluate his heart’s structure and function.

This is a terrifying and uncertain time for Justin and his family. As many of you know, Justin is the sole provider for his household. He now faces an indefinite leave from work, and the financial strain from this medical emergency is overwhelming.

How You Can Help
Your donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward:

Life Flight transportation to OHSU

Extended ICU hospital stay

Cardiac catheterization, heart biopsy and MRI costs

Medications and follow-up care

Everyday expenses like mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, and more

Temporary housing in Portland so his wife Nadali and their kids can remain close by during his hospitalization

Justin has always been the kind of person who shows up for others—now it’s our turn to show up for him. With your support, we can ease the immense burden this unexpected health crisis has placed on his young family.

Please share this page with your networks, send your love and prayers, and if you're able, make a donation today. Together, we can help carry Justin and his family through this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude and hope,
Pete and Ali Hanes / On behalf of the Johnson Family
