UPDATE 12/28: With great sorrow and sadness, Juan has left us today. This fundraiser is no longer accepting donations, but we encourage you to help his family who have been tenaciously by his side by clicking here to redirect to his familys page.
Our employees are the backbone of our company and we try to help them however we can. This time, we are asking for all of you to help one of ours. We are here to tell you the story of Juan. Over the years we have employed hundreds of people, and few have had the charisma and attitude of Juan. He approaches everything he does with passion, and always does the best job he can. If you have had a countertop installed by us, chances are Juan put his hands on it, and may have even cut the slab for you.
Two weeks ago the trajectory of Juan's life changed forever. After a doctor's appointment for a stomach-ache, he learned that he has Stage 3 Stomach Cancer. Juan is only 31 years old. He is facing his diagnosis with grace, and remains positive and strong. Just look at the smile on his face! The reality is he is going to need your help. He was born in Colombia, and lives here in the United States with his wife. The remainder of his family is still in Colombia. He needs assistance not only to help with the loss of work, and looming medical bills, but also to cover the legal expenses he will incur to fast-track a travel Visa for his mother, so she can travel to the United States to see him. It's a long road ahead, but we know he can pull through this. He starts Chemotherapy next week, and after a month of intense treatments the doctors will operate to remove the tumor.
There's no better medical care in the world, but there's also nowhere else in the world where medical care is so expensive. Anything helps, and please keep Juan and his family in your prayers.
