Sovereign Franchise, Not Charity.

I'm Joshua Tah-Lah Berglan — "The World's Mayor" and Omni-Media Architect — writing to you from Bamenda, in the North-West Region of Cameroon.

Tah-Lah is the royal title I was given by the Bafut Kingdom. It means "Father of the Land." It was not ceremonial. It was a commission.

Since March 2026, I have been on the ground here — in Bafut Kingdom and Bamenda — deploying what we call The Sovereign Protocol.

Alongside Princess Abumbi Prudence of Bafut and the team at Youths and the Future, we are building the Royal Echo Village: the flagship hub of a sovereign media franchise designed to preserve indigenous culture, empower local creators, and generate real, lasting revenue for the communities that have been extracted from for too long.

This is not charity. This is partnership.

The distinction matters. Charity makes communities dependent on external donors who eventually dictate the mission. A sovereign franchise keeps ownership, creative control, and revenue inside the community that built it. Bafut is Channel 1. Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda — led by Ahadi Bobo of Metanoia Hope for Tomorrow — is Channel 2. The framework scales to 500 hubs. Each one operates sovereignly, with its own identity, its own economy, and its own voice.

Why I'm asking for your support

My consulting work already funds my presence here. Every Sovereign Architecture Consultation I sell directly underwrites my travel, security, driver, food, data, and community reinvestment. I am not on anyone's payroll. No organization covered my flight. No donor class carries my upkeep.

But consulting revenue alone cannot move at the speed this mission requires. People have been reaching out — from multiple countries — asking how to support the work directly. This is that channel.
Your contribution goes 100% to me in Cameroon to fund:

Sovereign Media infrastructure — cameras, lighting, storage, connectivity, and the buildout of content production capacity for Bafut and Bamenda creators

The Sovereign Protocol deployments — curriculum, workshops, and hands-on training for local creators, leaders, youth, and women in the 54 sub-villages of Bafut

Practical resource pipelines — tools, educational materials, sewing machines, electrical equipment, and development support for local families and village leadership

Missionary operations — the daily cost of being present, secure, and effective on the ground: housing, transport, security, food, data, and the logistical spine that keeps the work moving

The Royal Echo Village build — direct support for the flagship hub now taking shape in Nchum, Bafut, including the solar infrastructure that comes before the walls

Full transparency

Every update will show exactly how funds are deployed. I publish field reports, video documentation, and written dispatches on my website as the work unfolds. You will see the faces, the villages, and the builds your partnership made possible.

The clearest public articulation of what we are building is a recent field dialogue I recorded with Princess Abumbi Prudence from inside Bafut Kingdom.

If you want to know what you're partnering with before you give, start there:

What I believe

Africa should rise on its own terms, with its own voice, on its own timeline. The power of media has been held by a few hands for far too long, and the world has seen what was built with it. My job — and the reason I left everything to be on the ground here — is to take that power and explode it into the hands of millions. Starting in Bafut.
If that resonates, partner with what is already underway.
Every dollar stays in the mission. Every update shows you where it went. Every community we reach becomes another channel in a sovereign network that no corporation, no donor class, and no broken system can compromise.

Join me.
