Hello Everybody. My name is Joshua Hansel, and I am a junior at Steilacoom High School and a Life Scout in Troop 71 in Steilacoom, Washington.
I am raising money for my Eagle Scout project. I will be creating a garden named The Purple Ribbon Memorial Garden. The reason why I chose this to be my eagle project is quite a sad one so buckle up. When I was 13, my cousin, Lucas, unfortunately died from fentanyl poisoning. He was 16 years old and a Junior. Since that day, I wanted to create a memorial for ALL those who passed or were affected by fentanyl, whether it be the individual who accidentally or not accidentally took it, or the families affected by the sudden loss of a loved one. Fast forward to my freshman year, Lucas’ Senior Year, Steilacoom High School's Senior Class of 2024’s gift was a garden and hangout space. Then it clicked, which is how I settled on the memorial garden, naming it The Purple Ribbon Memorial Garden.
I am asking for $2500, in order to purchase the materials such as lumber, bricks, soil, and of course the most important part of a garden, the purple flowers and plants. Any donations help and if you can not donate please share.
Thank you so much!
