Hello everyone, my name is Joseph Campbell.
For these past few years, I have been working hard, trying everything I could, in order to get my fiancée and now 3-year-old son safely here to the US from Haiti.
Up until February of 2024, I had at least been able to go and visit my family in Haiti, but since 2020, things have been gradually getting worse in many ways, and I am virtually unable to travel there at this time.
I haven't seen my son or fiancée in over a year now, but I have at least found a way to legally and safely transfer my DS-160 and fiancée visa to the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic.
Because of recent changes, it has become very difficult for people residing in Haiti to get a visa even into the Dominican Republic. There is a way, however, to legally and safely do this, and I have found an advocate who owns a small business and has been helping Haitian immigrants to get to safety, whether it be to the US, or elsewhere.
I am positive that many people have said this on here before, but I truly am not someone who ordinarily would ask for help financially from anyone, but I truly believe that this is a necessity. I feel it is an obligation I have as a father, and as a provider for my family far away and in very potential danger. I have swallowed my pride, and I ask humbly for any support that anyone is willing to give.
I believe these last steps I take will be the last steps needed to get my family here.
Expenses include paying the company fees, transferring the case, medical reports, and ultimately, of course, the visas to get them here.
My fiancée has had her fiancée application approved by USCIS already, but as the US Embassy in Haiti is hardly functional, there is nothing they can do.
