Support Joseph Jean's Family in Crisis

My name is Joseph Simon Jean. I am originally from a small town in Haiti. I have been living in the US for many years. Unfortunately, I have not been travelling to visit my family due to kidnapping, crime, and civil unrest. It is unsafe to travel. The country has been fallen into chaos since the assassination of the president. Day by day, the country is coming poorer. I am the only person in my family who had the privilege to travel to the US in 2015 to go to school. Right now, my family need me and your support more than ever.

I create this GoFundMe page to support my family that is in a horrible situation. Three weeks ago, a group gangs from Port-au-prince went to the town(Mirebalais) where my family lived their whole life, and killed a lot of people. They destroyed the prison, let the prisoners free, burned people's houses, and took everything. My family lost everything they had. Fortunately, none of them were killed. They were able to run far away in the other side of a river that is outside town with no food, and shelter. The gangs took the town because people in the town would not let people pass with guns that are coming from the border of the Dominican Republic to Port-au-prince. At this moment, a lot of dead bodies are all over the town, and the gangs are not letting people come back. There is no authorities to defend the population.

This gofundme is to help my family to travel to a small city far away, to find a place to rent, and start over. It is heartbreaking to see what is happening. I try to send them some money sometimes for food, but I can not do much, and having a stability would help them move on. So, please it does not matter how much you give, $5, $10, $20 or more will contribute to support them. If you feel embarrassed about how much you can give, please feel free to do it anonymously.
