My name is Joseph, and I’m a father of two young children and a loving partner. I work for Smartfiber Networks, providing internet service all around Vallejo. My job takes me into homes, businesses, and even places like police and fire departments and city hall. Vallejo isn’t always a safe place, and I’m constantly on edge, especially as a veteran living with service-connected PTSD.
Recently, I experienced something that has left me deeply shaken. While driving my work bucket truck down a single-lane road, I was involved in a road rage incident. A woman driving behind me became angry, and when the road opened up, she drove around and in front of me, slammed on her brakes, and forced me to stop. Before I could back up and drive away, she attacked me by pepper spraying me in the face from just a couple of feet away. The attack was completely unprovoked and has left me traumatized, afraid to leave my home, and fearful of driving on the local roads I travel every day for work.
I’m starting this fundraiser to cover attorney and court fees as I seek justice, to help with the mental, traumatic, and physical damages I’ve suffered, and to support my family as we work to move to a safer area. I work two jobs to provide for my family, but even then, we barely scrape by. Life has thrown many challenges my way, but I still try to be part of my community and give back whenever I can. Any donation you can make will not only help with legal fees but will also support my family and help us relocate to a safer place. I have hope in humanity and am grateful for any support you can provide. Thank you for helping us find some relief and hope.
