Support Jose García: Rebuild After Deportation

Help Jose Concepción García Restart His Life In Mexico

On the morning of June 9th, our world turned upside down. My uncle — a hardworking man who spent the last 24+ years showing up every morning at Edinger & Home Depot in search of work — was detained by immigration officers. He was simply trying to earn an honest living, just as he had quietly and respectfully done for decades.

Without any chance to see a judge or defend himself, or a chance to say goodbye to our family.. he was deported that same night to Tijuana, Mexico — a place where he has no family, no support system, and no idea how to start over. He was dropped off with only $130 in his pocket and whatever charge remained on his phone. My uncle is in his late 60s and has a slight stutter, which makes communication even more difficult and puts him in a more vulnerable position.
He never got the chance to explain his situation, speak for himself, or receive the fair treatment and due process that every person in the United States regardless of status deserves. No one should be taken from everything they know without the basic right to be heard.

Though he never had children of his own, he helped raise me and my sister like we were his daughters. He has always been a constant source of love, protection, and guidance in our lives. He is our family’s father figure, and we look up to him more than words can say. He leaves us behind and his sisters and brothers, but he’s also left his wife behind and the life he had here, not knowing it would be his last day..
Now we’re raising funds to help him rebuild his life from scratch to find safe housing, access food and daily essentials, receive medical care if needed, and have the resources to adjust to life in a country he hasn’t lived in for decades.
If you can, please donate — even the smallest amount helps. And if you’re unable to give, please share this and help us spread the word.
he shouldn’t have to go through this alone and no else should.

With love and deep gratitude,
La Familia García Cordero.
