Dear Friends and Family,
We’re reaching out to share that Jordan and Ale are facing an unexpected and challenging season as they prepare to welcome their first baby.
For the last year, Jordan has been experiencing lower back pain that would come and go. But over the last several months, that pain had become worse every day. After months of uncertainty, multiple different doctors, and countless tests, they finally found a doctor who would listen. He was diagnosed with Valley Fever. It is a severe fungal infection caused by inhaling spores that live underground in hot, dry places. Unfortunately, in Jordan’s case, because it took so long to identify the problem, because he didn't have any of the usual symptoms, it took longer to start treatment. Because of this, the infection started to spread to his lungs. While at his last doctor's appointment, they also found a lump in his back that was concerning, so he needed to have emergency back surgery.
As Jordan recovers, he will need 24-hour care and frequent medical appointments over the next several months. Both he and Ale will need to take time away from work for roughly the next three months. We want to ensure that his only focus during that time is his recovery.
While they remain strong and hopeful, the medical expenses and loss of income have begun to add up quickly. Our goal is to help alleviate some of this financial burden, allowing Jordan and Ale to focus on healing and preparing to welcome their little one with less stress and more peace of mind.
To support them, we have set up a GoFundMe and will also be hosting a community fundraiser. Any contribution, whether through donations, participating in the fundraiser, or simply sharing their story, would make a meaningful difference.
We appreciated any support.
