I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dad, Jordan, who lost his house in a fire Wednesday night. He is okay—he was in bed and had to find his way out through a second-story window. I’m grateful to Waterville’s Fire Department and first responders and commend my dad for navigating such an unimaginably terrifying situation so well.
The home is a total loss and the only possessions left are the clothes he was wearing that night. I’m hoping to raise this money to help him start from scratch, replace necessities, and secure housing while the logistics of a new home are sorted out.
It wasn’t just his home, but a 25+ year labor of love. When he bought the beautiful two-and-a-half story Victorian, it was in rough shape and had to be torn down to the studs. Over the years, he scraped every penny to transform the withering old house into the one-of-a-kind home it was.
It was filled with decades of cherished belongings and mementos including items from back home, and an impressive, ever-growing collection of antiques. It was also filled with the magic of years and years of memories, including the famous dinner parties that inspired his restaurant, Mé Lon Togo.
I know the memories of 12 High Street are held tenderly in many people’s hearts and that, though it won’t be the same, he’ll create many new ones.
In order to do so, though, he urgently needs your support. Thank you for reading this far. Please consider making a contribution if you’re able, and share this page so we can help my father, Jordan, recover from this devastating loss.
Well wishes,
Olivia
