Support JoliAnn and Matt Cooley’s IVF journey
Hello, we are the Goff family, and we have been given the opportunity to support our sister and brother-in-law on their IVF journey to growing their family.
Joli and Matt currently have a beautiful 2-year-old named Alaina, and she is their world. We have asked Joli to share bits of their journey below.
We first started trying to conceive in 2018. We figured it would take a few months before we would get pregnant. After about 6 months, we thought that maybe we needed to have some medical advisement and help getting pregnant. We were told most fertility experts won't even help you get going on anything until you've been trying for a year. We decided to try for 6 more months with no luck.
Once we started seeing doctors for help, we were tested for multiple things and did different trials and procedures, all while still trying naturally for a baby.
JoliAnn had surgery to remove endometriosis in the spring of 2020. We tried superovulation with different medications such as Clomid. We then did 3 rounds of IUI in the spring of 2021 with no luck. Doctors at this point couldn’t figure out why we weren't getting pregnant and recommended we do IVF.
We financially could not afford IVF and decided to scrape and save every extra penny we had so we could, one day soon, afford IVF and begin our family. About 6 months later, after we had halted all medical help until we had money, we naturally got pregnant with Alaina. The only assistance we had was an Ava Bracelet that helped track ovulation cycles on JoliAnn. We thought that may have been the missing piece.
July of 2022, we were blessed with our love and joy, Alaina. We have loved every second of having her in our lives and couldn't be more grateful for the timing in which she arrived.
We had decided we didn't want to risk another 4-year journey of getting pregnant again, so as soon as medically recommended by our doctor, we started trying naturally for another child.
It's now been over 2 years of trying for baby #2. We've visited the same fertility clinics, new fertility clinics, old doctors, new doctors, had the same tests, procedures, and medications as the first time around, and even used our Ava Bracelet every single month. We are stuck again with no luck on expanding our family, except for the off chance IVF will work. We are now in the same financial situation. We've exhausted our efforts, our faith, our wallets, and our emotional strength to this point.
This news is humbling as well as overwhelming. IVF is financially and emotionally wrecking, but we are thankful for another option to keep trying.
Please help us support the Cooley family in their IVF journey and ease the financial burden.
