Hi everyone!
This year I will be travelling to Kolkata with Specsavers and the Hope Foundation to support the ongoing work of the Blindness Eradication Programme. This programme is focused across street and slum communities and schools through community based camps and special eye clinics.
This Blindness Eradication Programme has been supported by Specsavers since 2017. It aims to increase awareness of eye health and provide such to those who have no access to affordable healthcare.
The clinics function to identify and treat preventable forms of blindness, helping to change the lives of people, who are unable to learn/work as a result of their poor vision. Those requiring vision correction will be provided with glasses, while more serious forms of blindness will be identified and referred with treatment provided in HOPE Hospital as necessary.
This year we will be travelling to Kolkata on the 5th of November for a week of eye clinics with the intention of testing thousands of people in these communities.
I would really appreciate your support in this effort! Funds gathered will be directed towards the ongoing efforts of the Hope Foundation's Blindness Eradication Programme.
If anyone has any questions or would like to learn more about the incredible work carried out by this programme, I would be more than happy to answer or alternatively you can visit the Hope Foundation website for the mort up to date information.
