Support John & His Family After A Medical Emergency

Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Rachel, and I am creating this GoFundMe for my dear parents, Donna and John. My parents have been married now for 28 years, and have done absolutely everything together in their life. They are inseparable.

Recently, this past Wednesday, December 3rd, my Dad had gone to the hospital for a routine colonoscopy. I dropped my parents off in the morning, and planned to pick them up just a couple hours later after my Dad was cleared from recovery to go home. As I pulled up to the hospital to pick them up-my Mom called me, absolutely frantic, telling me that my Dad had collapsed after using the bathroom in the hospital lobby. He had filled the toilet with blood.

My Dad was rushed to the ER, and when he got there, his blood pressure reading was 45/23. Not life-sustainable. He was unconscious and hemorrhaging.

The doctors were somehow able to stabilize him, but informed us that they were about 30 seconds away from intubating him. My family and I were absolutely shocked. My Dad spent almost 8 hours in that ER, running test after test to determine what exactly went wrong. He was filling bed pans with blood, and his color was completely washed away. All we could do in that moment was pray. And then finally-he was sent to the ICU.

My Dad had a re-scope done the next day to find the bleeding, and by the grace of God, they determined that the bleeding had stopped, and the surgeon had put reinforcements in the area to make sure no bleeding would happen again.

My Dad has received 5 blood transfusions since then, and is finally feeling a bit better after such a traumatic occurrence.

After what seemed to be a routine colonoscopy, ended up almost taking his life. And yet, throughout his pain, all my Dad can worry about is his wife and his family.

I have never made a GoFundMe before, and I rarely try to ask for help. But this is something that I feel deep in my heart I should do for my parents.

Whether it’s to help with medical bills or just a bit more support to help them get through this extremely distressing time, anything would be such a great help.

My Dad; as a father, Pop Pop, husband, brother, and uncle-wants more than anything to make sure his family is okay. And after all he has been through, he still remains as strong as he can be.

His birthday is on December 24th, Christmas Eve. And this year, all we want is for him to come home.

Thank you so much for your time.
