My dad has spent his life helping others in his community — now I’m hoping the community can help him.
Last night, a devastating fire destroyed my father John Fournier’s apartment in Byfield, Massachusetts.
My father was sleeping and luckily he heard the fire alarm going off, got up looked out the basement window and saw aggresive flames in front of the house . Through the chaos, there was no time to search for our beloved cat, who is sadly presumed to have perished in the fire. The loss has been absolutely heartbreaking for all of us.
In just a matter of minutes, my dad lost everything — his home, his belongings, and a lifetime of memories. He also lost important daily medications in the fire, including his insulin, which he depends on.
Many people in the community know him simply as “John the Barber.” He has spent his entire life cutting hair, making people laugh, and being someone others can always count on. If you’ve ever sat in his chair, you know he’s the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. When he’s not at the shop, you can usually find him enjoying one of his favorite pastimes — playing pool with friends.
Right now, my dad is facing the unimaginable task of starting over after losing everything. I’m asking for any support to help him begin rebuilding his life after this tragedy.
Donations will go toward immediate necessities like clothing, temporary housing, food, replacing medications, insulin for diabetes , and other basic essentials lost in the fire.
Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and mean the world to our family.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would help more than you know.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
