Support John and Sue Trejo's Medical Journey

Hi, my name is Kasarah and this is a GoFundMe for my parents (John and Sue Trejo). Back in 2022, my dad went into the hospital with what he thought was a cold or an injury, and it turned out to be a flesh-eating disease. He went in on February 15th, 2022, by ambulance to Tri-City and had emergency surgery that night. They thought they got it all, but he ended up having emergency surgery again the next morning. He had a total of 5 surgeries that extended from his leg up his stomach and around his back over the span of 5 days (all with no medical insurance). He then was put into a coma. While he wasn't doing too good in the coma, the nurse at Tri-City tried to label him as COVID even though he had it 2 months prior to prevent me from seeing him because I had called them out on not administering his meds he was ordered. He was in the coma for almost three months.
To give back story, he is the only one that has been working and the only source of income for my parents. When he was finally discharged, he came home with me so that I could care for him and do his wound care. He began to have a really hard time breathing, and we rushed him to Temecula Valley Hospital where they put in a heart stent (said he was in heart failure). He finally got to see a heart specialist and was told his heart was at 9% functioning and that he needed a pacemaker or he wouldn't live. He had a temporary heart vest he had to wear in the meantime, and the machine ended up breaking and burning his back. He finally got the pacemaker, and his heart is still at 16%. He had to go through physical therapy for months and was told he wouldn't be able to go back to work because he was in heart failure, and they weren't very hopeful that he would make it much longer. He began to fill out social security paperwork to receive disability and was denied and has had to get a lawyer to fight it. They used the little bit of money to survive until now and still have not been approved for social security.
My mom ended up in the hospital in December with breathing issues, and they found out a few months later it was lung cancer. She had surgery and removed the bottom part of her lung. They need some help until they can be approved for social security. My dad has so much pride and doesn't want to ask, but they have sold everything they have to make it until now. They are behind on house payments and can really use any sort of help! Thank you to all our friends and family! Please share if you know my parents; they have been through so much over the years, and if you know my dad, you know he was always one to help everyone and anyone. <3
