John Alexander is a husband, a dad, and a friend to many in the Delmarva area. Over the past several months, he has been quietly dealing with multiple serious medical conditions affecting his heart, blood health, and mobility. He has congestive heart failure and ongoing heart rhythm issues despite prior procedures, along with severe anemia that continues to worsen without a clear cause.

Nerve damage, circulation problems, and spinal injuries have led to chronic pain and significant limitations in his ability to stand, walk, drive, or work. Many days, even basic movement is difficult. At the time of this post, John is currently in the hospital as doctors continue testing and treatment, and there is still no clear timeline for recovery.

Because of these medical issues, John has been unable to work for the past five months. Because he has always been private and tried to handle things on his own, much of this may come as a surprise to those who know him. Unfortunately, while his health remains uncertain, the practical realities of everyday life haven’t paused. The family is now facing an urgent housing deadline in mid January, and without immediate support, they are at real risk of losing their housing while John remains hospitalized and unable to work.
