Support Joey's Journey to Health and Healing
Hello. My friends and family know me as D'Aun or Dee. I am a grandmother to my precious 8 yr old granddaughter Jocelyn, known as Joey. Her dad Jay and Joey live with me now, for almost 5 years, since her mother, Carrie passed away July 18th, 2020. She is a bright, funny little girl, who loves to play baseball, Mine Craft and other games on her tablet, and draws all kinds of things. She sleeps with me, and our little family is very bonded. I am single for 16 years, and I still work to help provide for us. My son Jay also works, about 25 or 30 hours a week, and contributes to our household fund. Joey has been very healthy, and loves school. About 3 months ago, we noticed she was having stomach issues, and some headaches and throwing up. My son took her here in Farmington 6 times. It got worse, and finally he begged the pediatrics to do more. They did an Ultrasound at San Juan Hospital here, and immediately took her to ER. They flew her and Jay to UNM Hospital, where she had numerous tests, and fluid drained off her stomach, a litre at a time. She has an enlarged liver, and a blood clot is blocking the vein, to the portal of the liver. They are trying to dissolve the clot, with blood thinners, but it's a slow process. Joey was flown with Jay to Denver Children's Hospital Monday night, and the liver specialists are doing more procedures, including an MRI, X-rays with dye, to determine how to treat her best. My son has not left her side. We are super stressed out, and bills are piling up. Please help if you can.
