Hello! My name is June Ross! I am the wife and primary caregiver of my husband, Joey. We have been married for 14 years. We have three children at home, ages 14, 12, and 9 years.

Over the past 5 years, Joey has had several (too many to count) strokes that have left him disabled. Surgery wasn't an option due to his carotid arteries being 70-100% blocked. Without surgery, we were able to help maintain his diet, his diabetes, and health to help prevent more strokes. However, with severe limits for exercise, we weren't able to do much more.

Almost three years ago, he was placed in a nursing home due to complications of his strokes and health so that he could have more direct care while I still worked and took care of the children.

This past year, his body has started to not fight off infections the proper way. In August 2024, Joey was placed on hospice. As of now, he is considered "actively dying" with only weeks left on this earth with his family. I have decided to take FMLA from work to be able to bring him home to care for him in his last days. (This has also been his wish to be able to come home.)

With being home and not exactly knowing when I will return to work, our family does not have an income coming in as I don't have enough PTO time to cover it all. And with that, we all know that bills still continue to come in despite the trials we face. Along with bills, any monetary donations would go towards groceries, gas money, keeping my premiums paid for our health insurance, and eventually towards his funeral costs. (He does have life insurance but who knows how long that will take to receive.)
