Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of my cousin, Joelle Vanleer, who is facing a heartbreaking and life-altering tragedy. On May 29th, she lost her partner — the love of her life and the devoted father of their 2-year-old son, Royal — unexpectedly and far too soon.

Dave was more than just a partner and father. He was a hard-working man, a kind soul, a protector, and a truly family oriented man. The bond he shared with his son was deep and beautiful, always bringing laughter and love into their home. His sudden passing has left a hole that words cannot begin to fill.

Now, Joelle is left to raise their toddler alone. She’s grieving the loss of the man she planned her future with while trying to stay strong for their little boy, who is too young to understand why his Dad isn’t coming home. She’s doing everything she can to keep going, but the financial strain is overwhelming.

We are asking for your help to ease the burden. Your donation will go toward childcare and basic needs for Royal and for rent and living expenses as Joelle transitions to single parenthood.
