Help Support Joe Wolfe and His Family During His Life-Saving Heart Surgery

My name is Jennifer, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my aunt Laura Munsell, her partner Joe Wolfe, and their sweet one-year-old son Harvey.

Just a year and a half ago, Joe and Laura moved to the St. Joseph area and immediately became active and involved in the community. Joe became a preschool bus driver, a job he has loved deeply. He is the type of person who greets every child with patience, kindness, and a smile. If you know Joe, you know his heart has always been big — full of generosity, humor, and warmth.

Six months ago, Joe and Laura poured everything they had into opening a small local business, a discount shoe store providing affordable footwear for families in our community called $10 Shoes and Boots. Their dream was simple: to serve others, to help, to give people a place where they could feel welcome and supported — no matter their budget.

Two weeks ago, everything changed.

Joe was told he would need an urgent, life-saving Quadruple Bypass, Open Heart Surgery. His surgery is scheduled immediately, and his full recovery is expected to take 3 months.

This news has been devastating — not only emotionally, but financially.

Joe’s job does not offer medical disability or any form of medical benefit. He cannot apply for unemployment, or he will lose his job completely and have no job to return to when he recovers. During his recovery, he will have no income, and he has been the sole financial provider for their family as his partner Laura is working unpaid until they are able to get their small business reaching profit margins.

Laura is doing everything she can — caring for Joe, caring for Harvey, and trying to keep their new small business afloat — but the shop is still in its early first year and simply cannot support their family on its own yet.

This family is scared. They are overwhelmed, and they need help.

What Your Support Will Help With:

• Monthly bills & living expenses

• Groceries, gas, and basic needs

• The cost of lost wages during Joe’s recovery

Why Give

Joe and Laura have shown up for their community since the day they arrived here.

Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

Even $5 or $10 truly makes a difference — no amount is too small.

If you cannot donate, please, consider sharing this fundraiser.

Your love, prayers, and support mean more than words can express.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for loving this family when they need it most.
