Support Joe Rogers After Tragic Flood Loss
Donation protected
My name is Crystal Moore, and I have had several family members reach out on a way to help out my stepfather, Joe Rogers, after the life-changing events of Friday. Joe was trying to get my mother out of their flooding home and to safety when the house shifted and was swept into the creek, where it hit the bridge and just completely disintegrated, taking my mother Sandra, some of their animals, and every worldly possession they owned with the current. My mother was having a lot of health issues where she was on oxygen and had trouble just standing and walking at times. Unfortunately, I have to think practically, and I know at this point in time we can only hope to recover her body and hopefully gain some closure.
Joe is now going to be facing a long recovery to getting back on his feet, all while caring for some of their dogs who survived this event. Anyone who knew my mother knows that her animals are her babies. My mom and Joe were supposed to be moving into their new home, away from any flood zones, in the next couple of weeks after working towards this goal for several years and after many setbacks.
Right now, Joe is trying to find a way to at least get a small fence up at their new property to secure my mom's dogs and be able to care for them in these difficult weeks to come, as well as basically start his life over. I know a lot of people have been impacted by this horrible storm, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me and to all the people who loved my mother dearly. She loved her husband, her children and grandchildren, her animals, and anyone she considered a friend or family with a passion that cannot be matched. She will always be a big piece missing in our lives, gone too soon but never ever forgotten. We love you, Sandra Lynn Rogers, forever.
