Team Lally is praying for Joe’s full recovery and in the mean time rallying around the family while they take care of him.
With permission and gratitude, the friends/family of Joe "BubbaStud" Lally set up this GOFUNDME to help with impending mountain of medical bills and other financial support during this trying time. Thank you for any amount donation you can give at this time and sharing this with anyone that can help.
For the last year, Joe has not been feeling himself. March 23rd, he finally went to the ER to get checked out. The CT came back clear, but the doctors kept him for several nights to do an array of tests. The one concerning thing they could find was that his electrolytes were off, eventually he was sent home with an order to meet with his primary doctor as a follow up.
On April 6th, Megan and Brennan found Joe unconscious, having lost a tremendous amount of blood. EMS did compressions for 45 minutes and were ultimately able to get a pulse but the heroic life saving measures also caused fractures to his ribs. He was rushed to the hospital in dire shape and since his condition was deteriorating and he remained unresponsive, Megan was told to call the kids in and was given the paperwork for DNR measures. Joey drove in from Bowling Green in the middle of the night. Miraculously, when Brennan walked into the room,Joe must have heard her voice because he opened his eyes!!!!
The doctors advised that Joe's body remained in shock and that they needed to give him 22 units of blood to get him to baseline. He remains in the ICU where he is assigned one on one round the clock nursing care as he needs to be so closely monitored. The severe loss of blood caused him to go into Kidney failure. He was put on a continual dialysis machine because he can not produce any urine, so the machine has to do this for him. The surgical team was able to cauterize two large bleeding ulcers which was the source of the blood loss which lead to the kidney failure.
His heart is taxed, so he continues to be on a ventilator to let his body rest. His blood pressure is so low. Yesterday, they put in a feeding tube but this morning, it was removed since he is not able to digest anything. Although they have stabilized some things, he is still in multi-organ distress/failure.
The roller-coaster has not stopped for the Lally family. Certain specialists are hopeful, certain are keeping it realistic. Joe is very sick. The family has remained at the hospital 24/7 and are exhausted. At this time, the medical team is asking to refrain from any unapproved visitors.
The family is so thankful and overwhelmed with all your well wishes! We will be posting updates here for them.
Since the family is staying at the hospital there is no need for any MealTrain yet. Gift Cards for take out will be useful in the future.
Additionally some have asked for their Venmo account so here it is.
