Jodine's mission: one community at a time

My name is Jodine Lewis, and I’ve been a registered travel nurse for nearly a decade, working in hospitals all across the United States. Nursing has always been more than a career to me; it’s a calling. It’s about compassion, community, and standing up for those who need care the most. When I saw the devastation Hurricane Melissa brought to Jamaica, my island, my people it broke my heart. As nurses, we’re trained to run toward the crisis, not away from it. Even though I’m thousands of miles away, I feel a deep responsibility to help as many as I possibly can, especially the elderly, the sick, and families who have lost everything.
This fundraiser is my way of giving back, of turning empathy into action! The funds raised will go toward essential supplies, medical aid, food, and rebuilding efforts for those in reach (Montego bay, Negril, St.Elizabeth and Mandeville). Every dollar, no matter how small, helps restore hope and dignity to someone who desperately needs it.
I know there are large organizations collecting donations, but sometimes those funds take weeks, even months, to reach the people who need them the most.
When you donate through me, you’re not just giving to a cause; you’re partnering with me. I will be on the ground, in Jamaica, directly on the front lines helping to distribute supplies, provide care, and ensure that every contribution makes a visible impact.
I’ll also share regular updates so you can see exactly where your kindness goes and the lives it touches. This mission is from the heart and a promise that help will reach real people, not just institutions.
Together, we can rebuild hope and remind Jamaica that love travels faster than any storm.
