Help support Jodie with her Glioblastoma diagnosis

Donation protected
Updated July 28th 2025: Today, my mom had to unfortunately and unexpectedly hear devastating news regarding her brain tumor. The results from the biopsy (2024) show it was a glial/glioneuronal tumor. Which ultimately progressed to a cancer named glioblastoma stage 4 (2025) which is the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer, which is currently not curable, even when caught early. While treatments like surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy can help manage symptoms and prolong life, they rarely lead to a cure, and the cancer typically recurs. Knowing this information now, her next steps are to start radiation therapy. This is a very difficult time for us due to us not knowing the end results & future. We ask that you guys please continue to keep my mom and the family in your prayers and anything that is donated will be put into savings for any emergencies such as hospital trips, medical bills etc. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Jodie. I am an Army Veteran and a mother of 3 beautiful daughters. The ending of 2022, I was diagnosed with a brain lesion and also a glial/glioneuronal tumor on the left side of my brain. The tumor causes me to have focal seizures, which I get between 5-10 seizures every day. In January 2023 I had a brain biopsy and it was determined the tumor was not cancerous but eventually it would cause me to have a stroke. Since the biopsy, my speech and motor skills have declined due to where the tumor is located. I was offered radiation therapy to see if it would shrink the tumor or every 6 months get a MRI and just pray it didn’t get bigger. I decided to not do radiation because I have a 5 yr old autistic daughter (youngest) that I am the sole provider for. In February 2025, I was rushed to the hospital and it was determined I had a mini stroke. The next few months after, things were stable until the June 2025. I was brought in for an emergency MRI and my results were that the tumor has gotten bigger and it was best that I have the tumor removed as soon as possible. My oldest daughter lives out of state and is only able to come for a few days after my surgery. My middle daughter is taking FMLA leave from work to care for me and her little sister while I am in the hospital and also when I come home. The FMLA is to guarantee she will still have her job after caring for me. My daughter helps me pay rent and household expenses due to me having limited income due to me not being able to work. I will be having brain tumor removal surgery on July 7, 2025. I am hoping for the best outcome because this is a high risk surgery due to where the tumor is located. I thank everyone in advance for being able to help and contribute. God Bless…
