My name is Joan Adams.
I lived in Togo, West Africa when I served in the Peace Corps.
I return to Togo every summer to drill fresh water wells.
Clean water is sorely lacking in most Togolese villages.
I hope to build more wells every summer, money is my biggest constraint.
I have self-funded this endeavor for years.
It's simple math - more money = more wells!!
It's that time of year again - fundraising time.
With more money, we can buy equipment (not rent).
Renting equipment in Lomé and hauling it up country is expensive. And then of course - we have to bring the equipment back to Lomé.
With our own rig - we can leave it up country, because it's ours!
We will train local Togolese to do some of the well drilling work.
With all this - we can drill more than 2 wells a summer!
