My name is Taylor Dolan, the daughter of Joan Dolan. About a month ago our lives took a turn for the worst when my mother had a massive hemmorage in her brain causing her to have an external drain put in. After 3 long weeks in the Neuro ICU and still continuing to be hospitalized there is a lot of uncertainty in our lives. Anyone who knows my mom would say she is the toughest there is, however this has been her hardest battle yet. Since January 2025 she has suffered from 3 strokes and gratefully was able to recover quickly, however this time has been a lot harder on her. She is fighting everyday to gain back her memory, her strength and get back to her normal life but there is still a long road of recovery ahead of her to get to this point. 

My mother is the sole caretaker of my disabled brother and uncle so at this time I have been on an extended leave from work to help take care of them and her, however if she isn't able to recover they may have to move into a group home fully out of our control. As much as this is a scary, devastating time medically and emotionally, this has also been a large strain financially on my family. My brother and uncle recieve government assistance such as SNAP to provide meals for them but due to the current government climate it sounds like this assistance will subside 1 November causing an additional strain financially.
