Jireh’s Father has decided to petition the court for full custody of our son and has requested I pay him child support. He’s even gone as far as to request temporary full custody citing child negligence on my part. Without getting into too much detail, he’s manufactured some immensely hurtful lies to try to take Jireh away from his bestie and the only home he’s ever known.

Truth be told: I don’t feel comfortable putting myself out here like this, but I also know how powerful the trio of generosity, compassion, and community can be, especially when we come together for the greater good.

And when I say anything helps, I absolutely mean that. Just know that for me it’s not the amount of the gift, but the heart of the giver. Thanks to a fellow sober friend’s attorney referral, I believe I have found the best fit for our situation. I’m meeting with him and his wife tomorrow, and I feel deeply in my spirit that they are going to fight hard on Jireh’s behalf to ensure that he stays within his safety net with his Mama and Sister Full time.

I choose to believe that the truth will set our family free, that Genesis and Jireh will not be separated, and that collective prayer is still one of the most powerful antidotes.

I would have not had the courage to create this gofundme had it not been for my allies recognizing my pain and their urgency to assist me during this most heartbreaking of times. Sometimes receiving a blessing can be uncomfortable for me because I truly prefer to give, but if it’s one thing I know is that to everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose. And now is the time to humble myself, receive the blessing, and fight like a warrior for my baby boy.
