Jews Saying Never Again
on behalf of Movimiento Cosecha
UPDATE:

Thank you.
Truly, thanks to your support, we have shown the world that when we say Never Again we mean it. Together, we have raised sufficient funds to support the costs of legal fees for those participating in civil disobedience during our wave of actions, and to bolster the work Movimiento Cosecha. If you are able and wanting to continue supporting organizations working to close the camps, we ask that you make a donation to support groups on the ground fighting to say Never Again. You can use this guide to find an organization working on the ground in your community: neveragainaction.com/donate

#NeverAgainMeans never again.

#NeverAgainMeans abolish ICE.

#NeverAgainMeans close the camps.

#NeverAgainMeans never again for anyone.

_______________________________________________________________________

Jews are shutting down ICE, because when we say never again, we mean it.

This week #JewsAgainstICE across the US are taking to the streets and publicly protesting ICE to remind the world that Never Again means Never Again for Anyone. To join an action or plan your own visit neveragainaction.com

Thank you all so much for your generous support of this campaign, we are blown away! Clearly you all agree that this is the moment for us all to take bold action, before it's too late. As donations keep coming in, we want to keep this page active as a fundraiser for Movimiento Cosecha . Every dollar we raise that isn't used to cover bail and court costs for those committing civil disobedience will go to the visionary immigrant organizers at Cosecha.

What’s happening?

Our first action was last Sunday (6/30) when hundreds of us came together from all over the country and disrupted business as usual at the for-profit, privately owned Elizabeth Contract Detention Center in New Jersey. Together, we made headlines and 36 Jews were arrested. Now we need your support to cover their legal fees. But this is just the beginning. More actions are being planned from coast to coast. However, as a grassroots group of young Jews who are not associated with any organization or institution, we rely completely on your financial support. Will you help us reach this goal by donating to and sharing this GoFundMe page? All excess funds raised will go to Movimiento Cosecha.

Will you support young jews saying Never Again Means Never Again?

If you are able to support us financially, here are some recommended donation levels:

$18 - Supporter

$72 - Schlepper

$180 - Righteous

$360 - Deliverer

$1800 - Mensch

Why?

As Jews, we’ve been taught to never let anything like the Holocaust happen again. Now, with children detained in unacceptable conditions, ICE raids targeting our communities, and people dying at the border while seeking safety in the US, we are seeing the signs of a mass atrocity. We refuse to wait and see what happens next.

This crisis isn’t happening just at the border. It’s happening in our communities all around the country, and we need anyone and everyone to throw themselves into the gears of the system. We need our politicians to take drastic action to shut down ICE immediately and ensure safety for people fleeing to the United States. Until they do, we’re going to make it impossible for ICE to conduct business as usual.

#NeverAgainMeans never again.

#NeverAgainMeans abolish ICE.

#NeverAgainMeans close the camps.

#NeverAgainMeans never again for anyone.

Wow. Since our last update we’ve had actions in LA, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. We've demonstrated in six American cities in under a week! Be sure to get plugged into our organizing efforts here: bit.ly/NeverAgainUpdates

Now a note on this fundraiser: Due to the overwhelming success and outpouring of support for this fundraiser at $180,000 we will have raised enough money to cover the costs of our legal fees for those participating in civil disobedience during our wave of actions. As previously stated, our wonderful friends at Movimiento Cosecha will be receiving the remaining funds to fuel their fight for permanent protection, dignity, and respect for all immigrants in the United States. These actions could not have happened with Cosecha’s support. Their organizers were integral to our planning and execution of our actions. Carrying on the tradition of our partnership, given their status as a non profit organization, they have generously offered to be the entity that will work hand in hand with us to distribute these funds to pay for the bail and court fees for those who were arrested and need financial support. This is great news as it offers us a firm mechanism into which we can withdraw these funds and put them to good use! Furthermore, at the request of the Cosecha organizers we are turning off further donations to this GoFundMe when we reach our goal.

If you are wanting and able to donate to further work to close the camps, please consider making a contribution to these organizations working on the ground listed below.

Sunday: 36 arrests in New Jersey
Tuesday: 18 arrests in Rhode Island
Tuesday: 18 arrests in Boston

In just 2 days, 72 Jews have been arrested and over a thousand more have gathered to tell the world #NeverAgainParaNadie by shutting down ICE detention centers across the Northeast.

On Tuesday in Rhode Island, 200 community members and elected officials gathered outside Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility. 18 people blockaded the entrance with their bodies, halting business as usual at the facility, and were arrested for saying Close the Camps, Abolish ICE, Stop the Raids, and Never Again means Never Again for Anyone.

On Tuesday in Boston, over 1,000 people gathered at the New England Holocaust Memorial. From there, the mass group marched three miles through the streets, stopping traffic and gathering at the South Bay House of Correction. Once at the ICE Facility, the crowd rallied, sang, and shared stories. 18 people were arrested for saying #NeverAgainParaNadie.

In just 2 days, we have turned out our community to raise over $100,000 to both support the legal fund for Jews putting themselves on the line at ICE facilities, as well as to support our friends at Movimenta Cosecha who have been fighting for permanent protection, dignity, and respect for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Thank you to all who have showed up or donated to say #NeverAgain in the past 48 hours!

Our movement is growing, and with it we need your support. Actions are spreading from the Northeast across the country. For the next week Jews across the country will gather in their communities to say #NeverAgain. Join us by signing up (bit.ly/NeverAgainUpdates) and support our movement by donating today!

36.

That’s how many Jews just got arrested at an I.C.E. detention center in Elizabeth, New Jersey. A group of young Jews, Rabbis, and people from all over the country disrupted business as usual at the for-profit, privately owned Elizabeth Contract Detention Center in New Jersey. Now we need yours and our community’s support for their legal fees.

Will you support the 36 Jews who said Never Again means Never Again? Say Never Again by contributing now to support legal fees, and action materials.

We just put 36 bodies on the line because when we say Never Again, we mean it. Will you join us in saying Never Again by contributing to our GoFundMe?
