UPDATE 2/27/26: Just wanted to share that Jessica will start the second part of her treatment today. In addition to taking a chemo pill daily, she will be doing in-person chemo infusions to combat the Cancer. The hope is that she will eventually be able to do injections at home rather than these in-person infusions.
As we move into this next phase of her care, she is incredibly optimistic. Jessica is feeling strong and is ready to take the next step in fighting this to recover. We are all incredibly proud of her and genuinely want to thank each and every one of you for the continued support and prayers.
Hi Everyone,
As some of you may already know my sister Jessica received a very sudden diagnosis at the end of January. It was a complete shock to all of us that what seemed to be a lingering cough after a bad cold turned into major difficulty breathing and excessive fatigue. Following a CAT scan she received news that this was due to hidden cancerous nodules that had spread to both of her lungs. Days later we met with her oncologist and were given the full diagnosis. Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma.
We were told this type of cancer isn't typically discovered until it has spread to multiple organs. The sudden diagnosis has been tough to take in given she has no history of smoking or family history of lung cancer. Though Jessica and our family are grateful that another scan revealed it is nowhere to be found in her brain and only within her lungs and liver at this time. A small silver lining in a dark circumstance but a glimmer of hope for all of us nevertheless.
If you know Jessica, you may be familiar with her years worth of battles overcoming Celiac Disease and Endometriosis. This form of cancer is considered chronic and will be something she continues to fight for the rest of her life. However, Jessica is no stranger to fighting a hard health battle and has no intention of dwelling in sorrow. She plans to do everything in her power to fight and live her life to the fullest. For her entire life she has been a caregiver, hard worker, loving friend, and a role model to many of those around her. As we move into the treatment phase of her journey fighting Adenocarcinoma, people have reached out wanting to help and show their support.
Helping to provide financial relief during this difficult time while she navigates paying for treatments and the toll this takes on every other aspect of her life during her fight would be greatly appreciated. We want to thank everyone in advance for your prayers, donations, and meaningful support as she battles this. It truly does mean the world to her family knowing how many caring people stand behind her. Thank you.
