Support Jessica Welch and Her Family After Hurricane Helene
Jessica Welch and her family are facing immense challenges after being displaced by Hurricane Helene. A dedicated employee of SkyBridge Healthcare for nearly two years, Jessica is also a mother to a 10-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter. Her husband, Vince, has been laid off from his job at a martial arts academy due to the storm.
They also care for Jessica's 89-year-old grandmother, who has been a lifelong support. Their home, which had never flooded before, took on over a foot of water, resulting in the loss of most of their belongings. The situation worsened with contamination from saltwater and sewage after the reclamation plant was shut down.
Despite filing claims with homeowners’ insurance, flood insurance, and FEMA, help has been slow. They have already spent thousands on a remediation company to prevent further damage. Now, they face an estimated $25,000 to $40,000 to rewire the house, as the old aluminum wiring needs to be updated to code. Without power, they cannot continue the drying and sanitizing process.
Currently, the family is staying with a friend, but the commute is an hour to their home and the children’s school. They are seeking donations to help cover insurance deductibles, electrical work, clothing, gas, tolls, and other essentials.
Every contribution counts, and sharing this link helps, too. Thank you for your support during this difficult time!
