Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
Our beloved Jesse Torres has been fighting an incredibly difficult battle since January. What started as a severe case of kidney failure quickly escalated into life-threatening complications. After battling sepsis, Jesse was sedated and ventilated for long months. During this time, his blood pressure dropped to dangerously low levels, preventing proper circulation to his limbs. Tragically, this caused severe tissue decay, leading to the amputation of both of his legs, one hand, and three fingers on the other hand.
Jesse is currently receiving around-the-clock care at Houston Methodist Hospital, where he’s supported by an amazing team of doctors, nurses, and specialists. While he’s made it through the worst of it, the road ahead is uncertain. We don’t know when he’ll be able to return home, but it’s clear that Jesse faces an incredibly long journey toward recovery and rehabilitation.
In addition to his physical healing, Jesse and his family are facing significant financial strain. The cost of his hospital stay, medical treatments, surgeries, and eventual rehabilitation is mounting quickly. We are asking for your help to ease this burden and provide Jesse with the support he needs to focus on healing and adjusting to his new reality.
Any contribution—no matter how big or small—will make a meaningful difference in Jesse’s recovery. Your generosity will help cover medical expenses, assist with home modifications, and provide for his ongoing care as he navigates life after such a profound loss.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Together, we can help Jesse rebuild his strength, regain his independence, and start his long journey toward healing.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Edwin Salamanca and the Torres Family
