Support Jerid Hoffmaster's Legal Battle

I need to explain that my brother tried to end his life on his birthday May 29th. Somebody called the police and they did a wellness check on him and they took him to the Huntingdon Hospital.

He had taken a whole bottle of sleeping pills and a whole bottle of anxiety pills. The hospital at Huntingdon ended up putting him in a coma for 2 days. They ended up, while he was still in the coma, transporting him up to Altoona hospital where they were going to put him in the psych ward because he needed help.

When he woke up at the Altoona ER he had no idea where he was or what was going on and he tried pulling everything off of him and was trying to leave. They called security. Security put him in handcuffs and he kicked at the one security guard. While he was restrained they beat him in his face till he was bleeding and they broke his nose.

He received a letter from the UPMC Hospital, you might say apologizing for the incident, and him having to go to the operating room shortly after he was restrained. He had to go to the operating room because they broke his nose.

Instead of trying to help him they made things worse and now because he kicked at the security guard they want to try and put him in prison for 2 to 10 years.

We hired an attorney and Mom has given all that she has to pay for this attorney and to try and keep his apartment paid up and his electric bill paid up. Right now we currently just need a little bit of help if they reduce his bail to get him out so he can get back working again and pay his own bills.

He has already lost his job, possibly has lost his car, but he's trying to hold on to his apartment. He needs out so he can get back working and get his life back together again. He has been clean for over 9 years and just made one sad mistake and instead of them helping him they made things worse for him.

We were just asking any of his friends or anybody out of the goodness of their heart if they could donate even $5 or whatever they can spare. Even a share can help.
