My name is Edward Kelley and I'm a San Jose resident who frequents Calabazas Park in San Jose. It's a beautiful park and can see up to 500 people on a sunny weekend day enjoying themselves using the many facilities the park offers.

The park offers a city-sanctioned BMX park, brand new playground facilities, multiple baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, conveniently located across the street from the Calabazas Branch Library. In recent years, the park has become an exciting place, but the work isn't done.

I recently ran into a gentleman named Jeremy who has spent the last 5 years renovating a beautiful space east of the BMX park. When talking to Jeremy who had become homeless during the beginning of his work, he told me it's a shame that the area has gone downhill with overgrowth and trash, and has struggled with maintaining, cleaning and building the area to make it a better place for people to use. Whether it's teaching their children how to hike, bike, or just a nice clean place to read a book, we need to support Jeremy with financial assistance to help him keep moving forward. It would be great to see Jeremy get the support he needs and get back on his feet.

In recent years, Jeremy has spent tireless hours maintaining the space free of charge for families to enjoy a clean area, bikers to enjoy a clean ride through customized BMX trails, along with a great RC car track for people to enjoy. He needs some help with maintenance and I think we need to chip in to help him out.
