Hi everyone, Robyn Pursley Hollis here. I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister-in-law, Jennifer Petty. The words you're about to read are directly from her heart on an urgent need.
As many of you may know, my biological father has been incarcerated for the last 21 years. He was serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole through the state and 24 years through the Feds, meaning he was never getting out. He has never physically hurt anyone, but was considered a career criminal due to recurring robbery charges. He was addicted to drugs and used them to numb his pain.
For the time he has been incarcerated, he has been drug-free, passing all drug tests. He has also worked the entire time and furthered his education. He’s never been in any trouble or even written up. He greatly regrets his past decisions and has lived his life for Jesus ever since, helping so many others through the years.
In May 2023, he was diagnosed with final stage multiple myeloma cancer. At that time, I started the seemingly impossible process to try to get him home, BUT GOD.
After two years of hard work and many prayers, my dad is being released and coming home! God has made the impossible possible. Hallelujah!
I know I have a very challenging road ahead, but I’m so thankful for this opportunity. My dad will be coming to live with my husband and me. I am grateful that I get to take care of him in his last days. He is in stable condition right now, but that could change any day.
Because he has been incarcerated for so long, he doesn't have anything. He will need clothes, shoes, and many medical supplies. He has no insurance, and while we are working on getting it, all of that takes time, and he has to be home to even start the process. He is also in a wheelchair because he is numb from his waist down due to the cancer affecting his spine.
I would truly appreciate any help you are willing to give so that I can provide him with the care he needs. Your support will go directly towards essential items and medical needs as we navigate this new chapter.
Thank you for all your love, support, and countless prayers. God is so good, and I’m so grateful! I truly believe that this story is much bigger than just my dad and me. We plan to use this story for God’s glory to hopefully help so many other people.
God removed the life without parole sentence and removed the 24-year federal sentence! Talk about moving mountains! God can do the impossible if we just BELIEVE!
God bless you all! ❤️
