My name is Jennifer Driskell-Worth. My twin brother passed away while in custody. He was in Shasta County Jail. He had been in there approximately a week and a half. I have no idea what happened while he was in jail or at the hospital. I know they took him to the hospital on October 30th at 8:30 am and he died that evening at 6:30pm.
The last time I talked to him was about a month ago. He called me and he was in the hospital in Redding Ca. He had been in there for 3 or 4 days sick with pneumonia. They were getting ready to release him with some antibidics. I didn't think that was a good idea. I think they should have kept him longer. The last time I seen him was 7 or so years ago. He had been going to come and stay with me for the last couple of months. But for miscellaneous reasons he never made it down here and now he's gone.
Several attorneys have contacted me because there have been several in-custody deaths very recently. I need t would like to hire someone to find out what happened.
I also need funds to have him cremated and to get an urn so I can keep his ashes. If the county creamates him I will not be able to get his ashes. They will dispose of them. They are currently doing an autopsy so this is very urgent.
Not that there's any bringing him back because there's not. I'll never get to see my brother again here on earth. But I want/need to know what happened to him while he was in jail. What was wrong with him. Did he put in a medical request? How many times did he put in a medical request. How long did it take to finally get him to the hospital from the time he started putting in medical requests if he did? I want to know why it took them so long to finally take him to the hospital. I want to know who delayed him from going to the hospital. I want to know who finally okayed it for him to go to the hospital. Was there neglect on the jails part? Why... Why... Why? I have so many questions but the main one is...f they would have taken him to the hospital sooner would he have been okay or was it just his time to go? And until I know this stuff I won't be able to have closure. Outcome: if there wasn't neglect then atleast I'll know. If there was neglect something needs to change at the jail so this doesn't happen again to someone else. I appreciate everyone's help. It's greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Driskell-Worth
