Jen Achter is a friend and talented hairstylist who has been part of our Telluride and Ridgway communities for years. Jen has always been radiant, full of energy, and the conversations in her chair can go far and wide. She lives a simple life with her lovable treat-centric dog, Leah, and is surrounded by a circle of friends and loyal clients who mean everything to her.

Last Saturday, Jen slipped on black ice near her home in Ridgway and painfully broke her radius. She sent photos, and it’s clear this will be a tough recovery. As a one-chair stylist, Jen lives appointment to appointment, and when she can’t cut hair, her income stops. For the next two months, she will be unable to work while still facing the realities of rent for her small apartment and studio, credit card payments, car insurance, groceries, and everyday expenses.
